Commonly asked Questions

The COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) Antibody Test

What is it?

Testing for COVID-19 antibodies can tell whether a person has been previously infected with SARS-CoV-2, the virus which leads to Covid 19.

Citi Health offers two methods of testing for the Covid antibodies.

Both tests are able to detect whether a person has been previously infected with Covid.

Public Health England (PHE) has evaluated the tests and approved them as being safe and reliable. We are also one of the few of the Government’s UKAS accredited suppliers of the test to date.

When to take the test?

The Anti-body blood test is advised to be taken 14 days post infection of COVID-19 (or showing symptoms) and 21 days if the person has an underlying medical problem.

What tests do you offer?

We offer two tests, one which can be taken at work or at site, another which can be sent to the employee to do at home.

In work tests

The Abbott SARS-CoV-2 IgG Antibody test is a blood test. Your specimen is sent to the laboratory and results are back within 24 hours.

Or posted directly to you:

The Roche Elecsys Anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibody test is a home test kit, and can be posted to any employee. It is a finger prick test, with the employee getting all the instructions and pre-paid envelope in which to return the kit back to the lab.

Get your results within 24 hours.

All results are returned to the employee (and with their consent) back to their HR department by email. The same email will contain an explanation of what your result means, guidelines to follow and a letter on header paper from the lab with your tests results.
